After flying high against Esparto on Thursday, Delta came back down to earth. The Saints fell just short of the Leroy Greene Academy Lions by a score of 7-6 on Monday. The Saints' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Spencer Buckley was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Cole Hutson, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs.

Delta's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 7-6. As for Leroy Greene Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-9.
