In what's become a running theme this season, the Deer River Warriors gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They blew past Red Lake 83-50 at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Deer River has posted since December 18, 2023.
Red Lake lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Lilia Pemberton, who scored 19 points along with three steals. That was a full 38% of Red Lake's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Ce?angela Pemberton was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
The win makes it two in a row for Deer River and bumps their season record up to 9-6. As for Red Lake, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Deer River will challenge Barnum at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Red Lake's road trip will continue as they head out to face Kelliher/Northome at 7:15 p.m. on January 23rd.
