University Prep extended their winning streak to 11 on Saturday, bumping them up to 11-0. They blew past the Boron Bobcats 9-2. The result was nothing new for the Jaguars, who have now won seven games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Angel Herrera and Connor Byrom made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Herrera pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Meanwhile, Byrom tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Herrera has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. At bat, Herrera went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one double, while Byrom went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI. That RBI was Byrom's first of the season.

On Boron's side, Geordyn Rundblade was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Andrew Gartica, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Coming up, University Prep will square off against Vasquez at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Boron, they will head out on the road to challenge Bishop Union at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Broncos will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
