The Hesperia Scorpions were the 59-35 winner over the Apple Valley Sun Devils when they last played one another on January 10th, but their luck changed this time around. Hesperia fell to Apple Valley 50-44. Hesperia has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Hesperia still got an impressive performance from Berlynn Miramontes, who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds and seven steals. Annabel Sanchez was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
Hesperia has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-15 record this season. As for Apple Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 17-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hesperia won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Adelanto at 6:00 p.m. on January 27th. Adelanto knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Hesperia likes a good challenge. As for Apple Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Burroughs at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Burroughs is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.
