Madison Zavasky was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 30 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Pine-Richland's points. Another player making a difference was Maren Iski, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds.
Pine-Richland pushed their record up to 5-10 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Hempfield Area, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pine-Richland will challenge North Allegheny at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. North Allegheny will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak. As for Hempfield Area, they will head out on the road to challenge Trinity at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Trinity presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Hempfield Area in Pennsylvania (Trinity is ranked 65th, while Hempfield Area is ranked 220th).
