The Prospect Panthers will head out to take on the Live Oak Acorns at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Prospect will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
On Friday, Prospect earned a 10-5 victory over Del Mar. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Dons recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.
Jeremy Wang and Alex Hand made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Wang didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Hand pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Wang has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. At bat, Wang went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Hand went 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That's the most RBI Wang has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Bryce Pollace was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Prospect's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-8 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Henry Little, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Prospect hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Live Oak, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They came out on top against Ann Sobrato on Friday by a score of 4-3 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Acorns have posted since March 12th.
Live Oak's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jack Rice, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
The victory got Prospect back to even at 8-8. As for Live Oak, their record is now 5-10-1.
Prospect skirted past Live Oak 5-4 when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Acorns turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
