Rogers has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Tiverton Tigers at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Rhode Island (Rogers is ranked 41st, while Tiverton is ranked 38th).
On Wednesday, Rogers didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Middletown, but they still walked away with a 26-21 victory. The win was just what Rogers needed coming off of a 55-26 loss in their prior matchup.
Meanwhile, Tiverton's five-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 33-18 win over Prout. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Tiverton has managed all season.
Tiverton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ellery Pacheco, who scored 15 points. Those 15 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Jenna DelDeo, who scored ten points.
Rogers' record now sits at 1-4. Tiverton's record is now 1-4.
Rogers took their victory against Tiverton in their previous meeting back in January of 2022 by a conclusive 55-29. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rogers since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
