Big Bear is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They had just enough and edged out Rim of the World 9-8 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bears have posted since April 17, 2025.
Jackson Wortham was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Wortham was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Josiah Rufner, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Chase Wilson, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Valley View put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let Liberty get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. While the Eagles didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
The result came thanks to Cameron Maciel's shutout, as he gave up just seven hits.
At the plate, Valley View's win was truly a team effort as nine different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Graysen Hasbrouck, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
Valley View hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in four consecutive contests.
Big Bear's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Valley View, their record now sits at 6-0.
