The Northwest Area Rangers waltzed into their game Friday with three straight wins but they left with four. They came out on top against Blue Ridge by a score of 41-30. For Northwest Area, this counts as revenge for the 48-38 defeat Blue Ridge walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2022.
Karsyn Miner was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. The contest was her fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ashlyn Hermanofski, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Northwest Area's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Blue Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northwest Area will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Sayre at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Sayre comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last five games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. Blue Ridge will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Mountain View at 1:15 p.m. on January 6, 2024.
