Carolina Forest took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Loris with a sharp 3-0 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Panthers as it put an end to their three-match losing streak.
Carolina Forest walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the first set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-19, 25-21.
Meanwhile, Fort Dorchester hadn't done well against Goose Creek recently (they were 1-7-1 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Patriots walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Gators.
Fort Dorchester had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-19, 25-11, 26-24.
Carolina Forest better keep an eye on Hannah Wallace. She was instrumental in Fort Dorchester's win, getting 20 digs and five aces. That's the most aces Wallace has posted since back in September.
Fort Dorchester was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 27 aces. They are 11-3 when they serve at least ten aces.
Carolina Forest's win bumped their record up to 16-9. As for Fort Dorchester, their victory bumped their record up to 12-15-1.
Carolina Forest was able to grind out a solid win over Fort Dorchester when the teams last played back in October of 2019, winning 2-0. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Patriots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
