The Norfolk Panthers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They breezed by Grand Island on the road to the tune of 62-27. The win was a breath of fresh air for Norfolk as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Norfolk found their leader in underclassman Bo Caskey, who scored 15 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Caskey has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Russell Aubrey, who scored 11 points.
Despite the loss, Grand Island had strong showings from Lilly Goodwin, who scored nine points along with two steals, and Nyaruot Wal, who scored three points.
Norfolk's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-11. As for Grand Island, they dropped their record down to 1-12 with that loss, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.
Norfolk won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Newton HomeSchool at 9:45 a.m. on January 27th. Hopefully Newton HomeSchool focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 31 on Friday.
