Football Recap: Elk River Piles Up the Points Against Robbinsdale Armstrong

Elk River won the last time they faced Robbinsdale Armstrong and things went their way on Friday too. The Elks blew past the Falcons 42-15. The Elks pushed the score to 28-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Falcons cut but never quite recovered from.

Carsyn Kleffman had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 90 yards and three scores on only nine carries. Another rusher making a difference was Braedon Becker, who rushed for 98 yards on only eight carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Elk River was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 341 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 260 rushing yards in four consecutive matchups.

Elk River's record now sits at 5-1. As for Robbinsdale Armstrong, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Elk River will square off against Monticello at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Magic will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Elks surely won't give up without a fight. As for Robbinsdale Armstrong, they will face off against Robbinsdale Cooper at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hawks will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.
