Helix has gone 8-2 against El Capitan recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Highlanders will head out on the road to face off against the Vaqueros at 4:00 p.m. Helix will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
Helix is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 13-5 margin over Santana on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Highlanders have posted against the Sultans since May 5, 2022.
Antoin Simpson made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

In other pitching news, Sean Sherrod tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
Back at the plate, Helix got a massive performance out of Alex Carbajal, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one RBI. Those three runs gave Carbajal a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Johnson, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Helix always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .590. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, El Capitan lost 8-2 to Granite Hills on Thursday. The Vaqueros have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.
El Capitan also got a good showing from Evin Padilla, who pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.
On the hitting side, El Capitan saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kasen Baker, who went 1-for-4 with one RBI.
El Capitan's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Helix, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-9 record.
Helix skirted past El Capitan 5-4 in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Will the Highlanders repeat their success, or do the Vaqueros have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
