The Barstow Aztecs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight loss. They fell just short of Granite Hills by a score of 47-44. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Barstow has suffered yet this season.
Granite Hills found their leader in underclassman Bryanna Lynem, who scored 29 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lynem has scored all season. Chloe Rollins was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Barstow's loss was their ninth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Granite Hills, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Barstow will challenge Adelanto at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Adelanto presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Barstow in California (Adelanto is ranked 461st, while Barstow is ranked 993rd). Granite Hills will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Silverado at 5:30 p.m. on January 18th. Silverado has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 343 points over their last five matches.
