The Jenkintown Drakes were the 34-32 winner over the Renaissance Academy Knights when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Jenkintown received a tough blow on Friday as they fell 44-30 to Renaissance Academy. Jenkintown's loss continues a unfortunate trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
Renaissance Academy found their leader in underclassman Saydi Daye, who scored 17 points along with six steals. The contest was Daye's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dallis Stewart, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Jenkintown's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Renaissance Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jenkintown will take on Philadelphia Montgomery Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Philadelphia Montgomery Christian Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. Renaissance Academy and Chester will face off at 5:30 p.m. on January 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Chester is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
