After two games on the road, Canton is heading back home. They will take on the Williamson Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Kendall Kitchen and Taylor Rae Jones.
Last Wednesday, Canton came up short against Wellsboro and fell 35-28. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Canton has scored all season.
Canton's loss came about despite a quality game from Kitchen, who scored 16 points along with six steals. That was a full 57.1% of Canton's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Daveian Crowley, who scored four points.
Meanwhile, Williamson stacked a fourth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Sayre as Williamson made off with a 38-15 victory. The win was nothing new for Williamson as they're now sitting on three straight.
Williamson found their leader in underclassman Kenna Thomas, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 15 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Madisen Jones, who scored five points along with three steals.
Canton's loss was their sixth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 6-8. As for Williamson, their victory bumped their record up to 10-2.
Canton didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Williamson when the teams last played back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 47-42 victory. Does Canton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Williamson turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
