The Liberty Lions can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent contest on Tuesday. They really took it to Pittsburg for the full four quarters, racking up a 71-38 victory at home. The win was familiar territory for Liberty who now have eight in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Liberty to victory, but perhaps none more so than Madison Perea, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 26 rebounds. Perea is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 11 games she's played. Lea Salinas beamen was another key contributor, scoring 21 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Pittsburg's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jenna Miller, who scored nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jurnee Cox, who scored eight points.
Liberty is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. As for Pittsburg, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-16.
Liberty will head out on the road to challenge Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Heritage is on a seven-game streak of home wins, Liberty a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Pittsburg will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Antioch at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th.
