The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Capistrano Valley Christian has struggled recently with five losses in a row, while Sunny Hills will arrive with four straight wins.
Last Tuesday, Capistrano Valley Christian came up short against Santa Margarita and fell 63-51. While losing is never fun, Capistrano Valley Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 649th, while Santa Margarita is ranked 307th).
Meanwhile, Sunny Hills scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 63-23 win over Hesperia. That 63-23 margin sets a new team best for Sunny Hills this season.
Natalie Do continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 12 points. The game was her third in a row with at least ten points. Kayla Ma was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Capistrano Valley Christian's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Sunny Hills, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.
Capistrano Valley Christian was able to grind out a solid victory over Sunny Hills in their previous meeting back in December of 2021, winning 44-32. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Sunny Hills' Jasmin Jones, who scored eight points along with 14 rebounds and four steals. Now that she won't be playing on Thursday, will it be that much easier for Capistrano Valley Christian to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
