The Milton Hershey Spartans will head out on the road to face off against the Red Land Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
Last Tuesday, Milton Hershey was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 50-44 to Palmyra. While losing is never fun, Milton Hershey can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 386th, while Palmyra is ranked 134th).
Even though Red Land has not done well against Mechanicsburg recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Red Land came out on top against Mechanicsburg by a score of 39-32. That's two games straight that Red Land has won by exactly seven points.
Milton Hershey now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Red Land, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 3-8 record this season.
Milton Hershey skirted past Red Land 54-52 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Milton Hershey since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
