Highway 6 extended their losing streak to seven on Monday, dropping them down to 2-7. They came up short against the Polk County Slammers, falling 17-5. The Trailblazers were not able to make up for their loss to the Slammers from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.
Highway 6 saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addisyn Norris, who fired off two home runs while going 2-for-2. Those home runs marked the first that Norris has launched this season. Another was Alexa Hale, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
As for Polk County, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-9. With that win, they brought their scoring average up to 6.9 runs per game.
On Polk County's side, Adrienne Waller made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Waller has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in October of 2024.
In other batting news, Mady Berggren and Shyenne Krol did most of the damage at the plate: Berggren went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Krol went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Jazlyn Ramirez-Catlan was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Highway 6 didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-0 victory against Hershey on the 13th. As for Polk County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 16-14 defeat against Twin River on the 9th.
