For the second straight game, Burroughs will face off against Hesperia. The Burros will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Scorpions at 3:15 p.m. Burroughs is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.3 runs per game this season.

Burroughs is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 13 runs on Friday, they were much more limited against Hesperia on Wednesday. They lost 12-2 to the Scorpions. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Burros, who until this game were averaging 3.71 runs allowed.

For Hesperia's part, Carlos Ramirez made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. Ramirez was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Lincoln Snow was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Hunter Mayer, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

Hesperia always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Burroughs only posted an OBP of .308.

The win (which was Hesperia's third in a row) raised their record to 12-3. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Burroughs, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 13-4.

Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Burroughs hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .363. However, it's not like Hesperia struggles in that department as they've averaged .375. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
