It was a good run, but the Lower Lake Trojans unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They were outmatched by Cloverdale at home and fell 56-29. Lower Lake has struggled against Cloverdale recently, as their matchup on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Lower Lake lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Tiahna Tubbs, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Tubbs is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Benson, who scored five points along with seven rebounds.
Cloverdale's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tylie Hatcher, who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Hatcher hasn't dropped below 15points for 11 straight games. Shasta Vlasak was another key contributor, scoring six points along with ten assists and six rebounds.
Lower Lake now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Cloverdale, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lower Lake will take on Middletown at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Middletown presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lower Lake in California (Middletown is ranked 271st, while Lower Lake is ranked 655th). As for Cloverdale, they will head out on the road to challenge Kelseyville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
