Leuzinger dropped their record down to 14-5 on Monday, which also ended the team's seven-game streak of wins. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Santa Monica Vikings. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Olympians were not able to get on the board.

As for Santa Monica, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 21-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games.

For Santa Monica's part, not much got past Gavin Kirtley, who gave up just a hit and racked up 14 Ks to keep Leuzinger off the board.

At the plate, Santa Monica's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Blue Hunter, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

While Leuzinger had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
