The Renaissance Academy Knights came tearing into Thursday's game with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.1 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 45-35 victory over Delaware County Christian. For Renaissance Academy, this counts as revenge for the 51-40 loss the Knights walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
Renaissance Academy found their leader in underclassman Saydi Daye, who scored 23 points along with eight steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Daye has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Dallis Stewart, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.
Renaissance Academy's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-4. As for Delaware County Christian, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.
Renaissance Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Philadelphia Montgomery Christian Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Delaware County Christian, they will head out on the road to challenge the Panthers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Hopefully MAST Community Charter focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Friday.
