The Elkhorn South Storm will face off against the Marian Crusaders at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Elkhorn South barely beat Millard North the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Storm put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 3-0 win on Thursday. The Storm haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Elkhorn South never let Millard North on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-19, 25-22.

Elkhorn South's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Finley Tate, who had 11 digs and two aces. Tate is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last three games she's played. Campbell Hoeft was another key player, getting five digs and three aces.
They weren't the only good servers: Elkhorn South was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their ace total in three consecutive contests.
Marian not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since September 30th (when they won 3-0). They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Lincoln East.
While Marian won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 28-26, 25-16.
Marian found their leader in freshman Sami Curnyn, who had 11 digs and 11 assists.
Elkhorn South's victory bumped their record up to 16-10. As for Marian, their win bumped their record up to 24-7.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's matchup: Elkhorn South has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 4.9 aces per game. However, it's not like Marian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.7 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
