Heritage is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Wednesday. They will welcome the Moreno Valley Vikings at 3:15 p.m. Heritage will be strutting in after a victory while Moreno Valley will be coming in after a loss.
Heritage barely beat Perris the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Patriots' pitchers stepped up to hand the Panthers a 10-0 shutout on Friday. The contest marked the Patriots' most dominant win of the season so far.
Diego Molina made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Molina was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

In other pitching news, Arlo Ortiz looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Dominic Reyes was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those runs marked the first that he has scored this season. Another player making a difference was Joseph Galloway, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Heritage always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .621. The last time their OBP was this high was back in February of 2025.
Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, Moreno Valley was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They lost 24-1 to Vista Murrieta. The matchup marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
Heritage is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Moreno Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.
Wednesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Heritage has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .450. However, it's not like Moreno Valley struggles in that department as they've averaged .432. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Heritage beat Moreno Valley 7-4 in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Will the Patriots repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
