The Shafter Generals's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Morro Bay Pirates at 2:00 p.m. on November 30th. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Shafter humbled Independence with a 63-31 victory. The victory was just what Shafter needed coming off of a 58-36 defeat in their prior contest.
Shafter's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Aliyah Escalera, who scored 15 points along with 5 rebounds, and Alexia Ramirez, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Escalera is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Isela Lugo, who scored 11 points along with 3 steals.
Meanwhile, Morro Bay didn't have too much trouble with Justin Garza at home on Tuesday as they won 46-32. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Morro Bay.
Shafter's win bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Morro Bay, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Shafter came out on top in a nail-biter against Morro Bay when the teams last played back in December of 2022, sneaking past 41-38. Will Shafter repeat their success, or does Morro Bay have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
