Basketball Recap: St. Hubert Catholic for Girls' Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Monsignor Bonner/Archbishop Prendergast Catholic, St. Hubert Catholic for Girls was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They put the hurt on the Frankford Pioneers with a sharp 51-28 win. With St. Hubert Catholic for Girls ahead 33-13 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

St. Hubert Catholic for Girls' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Luca D'Andrea led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds. What's more, D'Andrea also racked up five steals, the most she's had since back in December of 2024. Mia Ronan was another key player, putting up 17 points in addition to five boards and three steals.

St. Hubert Catholic for Girls smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Frankford only pulled down ten offensive rebounds.

Frankford's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Emma Raif, who posted eight points along with ten rebounds and three steals, and Janeliss Laboy, who put up nine points and five steals. With that strong performance, Raif is now averaging an impressive 8.1 boards per game.

With the victory, St. Hubert Catholic for Girls broke their seven-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-9. As for Frankford, their loss ended an eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-3.

St. Hubert Catholic for Girls has already played their next game (against Archbishop Ryan), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Frankford didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 62-12 win against Overbrook on the 27th.
