Meanwhile, Gibson Southern never let their opponents score on Thursday. Everything went their way against Tell City as they made off with a 14-0 win. The Titans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by seven runs or more this season.
Cam Truxal tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

Wahl went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Rich went 1-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Mt. Carmel pushed their record up to 18-8 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Gibson Southern, their victory bumped their record up to 18-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Mt. Carmel has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Gibson Southern struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
