If the Tulelake Honkers were riding high off their 51-27 takedown of Non Varsity Opponent on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Tulelake received a tough blow on Friday as they fell 54-35 to Butte Valley. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Tulelake in their matchups with Butte Valley: they've now lost five in a row.
Several Honkers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Makenzie Perez, who scored 7 points along with 21 rebounds and 3 blocks. Another player making a difference was McKenna Fine, who scored 6 points.
Tulelake's loss dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Butte Valley, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Tulelake will head out on the road to face off against Lost River at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Butte Valley won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Weed at 6:00 p.m. on December 2nd. Weed is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
