The Catasauqua Rough Riders had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a 44-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Tamaqua on Saturday. Catasauqua has not had much luck with Tamaqua recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Tamaqua's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sarah Hope, who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Lorelei Plasha, who scored 10 points.
Catasauqua's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Tamaqua, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Catasauqua will head out on the road to face off against Salisbury Township at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tamaqua, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Shenandoah Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
