New Hampstead put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with an 11-7 win over The Habersham School Patriots. While the Phoenix didn't have the best season last year (they finished 0-25), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Briar Miller was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. He was even better at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Camden Gates, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. New Hampstead's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-0.
