After having lost a blowout in their previous game against La Salle, the Marshall Eagles were happy to have found some success on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 53-28 margin over Charter Oak. This was payback for Marshall, who suffered a 32-30 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Marshall to victory, but perhaps none more so than Destiny Ihiaso, who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 12 rebounds. Elizabeth Ekpo was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Marshall's win bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Charter Oak, their loss dropped their record down to 2-1.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing El Rancho the next time they take the court. Marshall will head out to face El Rancho at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Charter Oak will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
