The Bishop Union Broncos won against the Kennedy Thunderbirds on Thursday with 44 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Thursday. Bishop Union walked away with a 44-37 win over Kennedy. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Bishop Union.
Bishop Union's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tannyr Ludwick led the charge by dropping a double-double on 12 points and 16 rebounds. Those 16 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Henny Charley was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with three steals.
Despite the defeat, Kennedy saw an underclassman step up: Imaree Curry scored 20 points. That's the first time this season that Curry scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Valeria Payan, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Kennedy struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Bishop Union posted 11 assists.
Bishop Union has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. As for Kennedy, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Bishop Union won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Eastside at 1:00 p.m. on December 29th. Eastside will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. Kennedy is on the road again on Friday and play against Templeton at 11:30 a.m. on December 29th.
