Even though the Hernando Leopards have not done well against the Nature Coast Tech Sharks recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. In a tight match that could have gone either way, Hernando made off with a 37-36 victory over Nature Coast Tech. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Hernando has scored all year.
Hernando's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Leandre Wright led the charge by scoring eight points along with 11 rebounds. Joseph Rivera was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three steals.
Hernando's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Nature Coast Tech, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hernando and Hudson will face off at 7:30 p.m. on December 21st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Nature Coast Tech, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Fivay on December 28th.
