The Design Tech Dragons will square off against the Crystal Springs Uplands Gryphons at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with four defeats in a row dating back to last season, Design Tech turned things around against The Bay School on Saturday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Breakers a 10-0 shutout. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Dragons considering their one-run performance the game before.

Isaac Gradek made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with three doubles, two runs, and one stolen base. He also brought in two RBI, marking his first of the season.
In other batting news, Eoin Halili and Maddox Hom did most of the damage at the plate: Halili went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while Hom scored a run while going 3-for-4. What's more, Hom posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Eddy Yee was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Crystal Springs Uplands took care of business in their home opener (barely) two weeks ago. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 win over Pinewood. The victory continues a trend for the Gryphons in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won seven in a row.
The team relied heavily on Tyler Hanebrink, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Marcus Kao, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
Design Tech's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Crystal Springs Uplands, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Everything went Design Tech's way against Crystal Springs Uplands when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as Design Tech made off with a 9-2 win. Will Design Tech repeat their success, or does Crystal Springs Uplands have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
