The Stockton Christian Eagles suffered their biggest loss since November 28, 2023 on Friday. They were beaten by Venture Academy 57-26. Stockton Christian has not had much luck with Venture Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Stockton Christian got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of
Destiny Barber and
Jami Araya, who each put up seven points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Venture Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kelyiana Neal, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Neal has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kimora Crawford, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds.
Stockton Christian has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Venture Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Stockton Christian and Lodi Academy will face off at 5:00 p.m. on January 11th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Lodi Academy's defense has only allowed 23.2 points per game this season, so Stockton Christian's offense will have their work cut out for them. Venture Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Linden at 2:30 p.m. on January 6th. Linden comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
