Willow Glen has gone a perfect 5-0 against Evergreen Valley recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Willow Glen Rams will be playing in front of their home fans against the Evergreen Valley Cougars at 11:00 a.m. Willow Glen is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.

Spencer Bartlinski made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Bartlinski was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. Willow Glen is undefeated when Bartlinski posts two or more runs, but 1-2 otherwise.
In other pitching news, Nolan Wirtz looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, Ray Walsh was excellent, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Marco Madsen, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-4.
Willow Glen hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in eight consecutive matches dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Evergreen Valley waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Dons with a sharp 9-1 victory. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by six runs or more this season.
Logan Burton was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing Four bases. while going 2-for-3. Those runs marked the first that he scored this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Vince Garcia, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Manny Sebastian, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Willow Glen has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. Evergreen Valley now has a winning record of 4-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Willow Glen has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Evergreen Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Willow Glen was able to grind out a solid win over Evergreen Valley in their previous meeting back in March of 2023, winning 6-2. Will Willow Glen repeat their success, or does Evergreen Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
