The American Canyon Wolves are taking a road trip to square off against the Maria Carrillo Pumas at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
American Canyon is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Armijo on Wednesday as American Canyon made off with a 15-5 victory.
Noah Johnson made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those runs were his first of the season.

In other batting news, American Canyon let Mason Harris and Matthew Schmaling run wild. Harris scored three runs and stole Four bases. while going 1-for-4, while Schmaling scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave Harris a new career-high in stolen bases. Another player making a difference was Cole Gholar, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4.
Meanwhile, Maria Carrillo put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Vintage by a score of 11-8.
Norman Shinn looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Zach Brandt, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Noah Harris was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
The win got American Canyon back to even at 2-2. As for Maria Carrillo, their record now sits at 3-0.
American Canyon skirted past Maria Carrillo 10-9 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for American Canyon since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
