Central is 1-9 against Fairfax since February of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Central Bobcats will head out on the road to face off against the Fairfax Stampede at 5:30 p.m. Central will be strutting in after a victory while Fairfax will be coming in after a defeat.
Even though Central has not done well against Sierra Linda recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Central took down Sierra Linda 59-45.
It was another big night for Lia Sims, who dropped a double-double on 41 points and ten rebounds. That makes it 18 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Central's points. Shakeira Mosley was another key contributor, scoring five points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
Fairfax suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They were beaten by McClintock 61-21. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Fairfax has scored all season.
Central's victory bumped their record up to 7-11. As for Fairfax, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.
Central was dealt a bruising 104-28 defeat at the hands of Fairfax in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can Central avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
