Ethan Postle got the start for Mendon and what a start it was: he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Postle has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. Nathan Markevicz picked up the save, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
On the hitting side, Mendon let Reece Totedo and Aiden Fields run wild. Totedo got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI, while Fields went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI. That's the most hits Fields has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Noah Sansone, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.
Mendon hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Greece Arcadia struck out 12 times.
Irondequoit not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since May 2nd (when they won 11-0). Everything went their way against Eastridge as they made off with an 8-1 victory.
Alex McLaughlin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits.
At the plate, Landon Bryan was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Max Spitz was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Mendon's win bumped their record up to 17-3. As for Irondequoit, their victory bumped their record up to 13-8.
Irondequoit's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Mendon has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .462. It's a different story for Irondequoit, though, as they've only averaged .364. Will they be able to contain Mendon's hitters?
Mendon couldn't quite finish off Irondequoit when the teams last played back in April of 2025 and fell 4-2. Will the Vikings have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
