The Santa Clara Saints's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 62-28 loss at the hands of St. Bonaventure. Santa Clara was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-9.
St. Bonaventure found their leader in underclassman Sarah Cosio, who scored 13 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. Cosio also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Bella Rico, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Santa Clara bumped their record down to 1-19 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for St. Bonaventure, their victory bumped their record up to 9-7.
Santa Clara will be playing at home against Foothill Tech on Thursday. As for St. Bonaventure, they will head out on the road to face off against Bishop Diego at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bishop Diego is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
