Oakwood and Paris are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The Comets will be playing at home against the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing isn't great for Oakwood: they have been struggling with five straight losses at home, while Paris has snatched up six consecutive wins on the road.
On Tuesday, Oakwood made easy work of North Vermillion and carried off a 7-1 win.

Cam Harris spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has become a key player for Oakwood: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-8 otherwise.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Xander Wilson, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Oakwood is 5-2 when Wilson posts two or more runs, but 2-7 otherwise. Weston Frazier was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Paris came out on top against Arthur-Okaw Christian on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run sixth inning. The Tigers walked away with a 9-4 victory over the Conquering Riders.
Gavin Reed looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single walk in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Marcus Hutchings and Carter Eastham did most of the damage at the plate: Hutchings went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base, while Eastham went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Hutchings also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Sean Dunn, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one run.
Paris' win bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Oakwood, their victory bumped their record up to 7-9.
Oakwood was able to grind out a solid win over Paris in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, winning 11-8. Will the Comets repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
