St. John Paul II Catholic's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Layne Dickens, who scored 7 points. Dickens scored a full 30.4% of St. John Paul II Catholic's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Dylan Olmos was another key contributor, scoring 4 points.
Presley Ibeh continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Highland Prep, dropping a double-double on 28 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which Ibeh has scored at least 25% of Highland Prep's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kohen Hill, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 assists.
St. John Paul II Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Highland Prep, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
