After flying high against Pace Academy on Saturday, Gilmer came back down to earth. The Bobcats lost 8-2 to the Carrollton Trojans on Saturday. The Bobcats' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Gilmer saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sarah Dale, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run.

Gilmer's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Carrollton, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gilmer will challenge Heritage at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Bobcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Generals have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season. As for Carrollton, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Douglas County at 5:00 p.m. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.14 runs per game on average), something the Trojans will no doubt try to take advantage of.
