Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rancho Alamitos). They put the hurt on Western with a sharp 17-1 victory on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Vaqueros in their matchups with the Pioneers: they've now won six in a row.
Hector Galeano and Carson Labossiere were a major factor while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Galeano kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Labossiere pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Galeano posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. At bat, Galeano scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Labossiere went 4-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI.
In other batting news, Rancho Alamitos got a massive performance out of Carson Lamb, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave Lamb a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jesus Gutierrez, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double.
Rancho Alamitos was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.
The loss snapped La Quinta's winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 7-4 record. As for Rancho Alamitos, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 7-4.
La Quinta took their win against Rancho Alamitos when the teams last played last Thursday by a conclusive 10-1. Does La Quinta have another victory up their sleeve, or will Rancho Alamitos turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
