The Willits Wolverines's recent rough patch got a bit rougher  on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They fell  50-40 to Lower Lake. Willits was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Lower Lake apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  back in December of 2023.
 Willits lost  despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being   Elena Arkelian, who  dropped  a double-double on 15 points and ten  rebounds. That's the first time this season that  Arkelian  scored 15 or more  points.  Cecily Potter was another key contributor,  scoring nine points along with 11  rebounds and two  blocks.
 Even though they lost, Willits  smashed the offensive glass and  finished the game with 26  offensive rebounds. That's the most  offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
 Willits has  traveled a rocky road recently, as they've  lost seven of their last eight games,  which put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season. As for Lower Lake, they pushed their record up to 8-10 with that  win, which was their third straight  on the road.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Willits will  challenge Kelseyville at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Lower Lake, they will head out on the road to  take on  St. Helena at 7:00  p.m.  on Monday. St. Helena is coming into the  game on a five-game losing streak.
