Jake Thompson, Rockwall-Heath (Rockwall, Texas)Thompson earned MaxPreps All-American honors his senior season after posting a 12-1 record with a microscopic 0.73 ERA, including 165 strikeouts in 95 2/3 innings. At the plate, he was just as dangerous, hitting .419 with 40 RBIs and 10 homers.
He was drafted 91st overall by the Detroit Tigers and this season he's 6-4 with a 3.14 ERA for the Lakeland Tigers in the Class A-advanced Florida State League.
