Jesuit is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Elk Grove is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Marauders will host the Thundering Herd at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Jesuit is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past Rocklin 7-6. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Jesuit got a great performance from Dillon Pratt as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave Pratt a new career-high in strikeouts (four).
At the plate, Kenji Mitsuda was excellent, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Luke Garcia, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, while Elk Grove put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Vacaville. The Thundering Herd were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Bulldogs. The Thundering Herd might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 matchups by six runs or more this season.
The result came thanks to Anthony Bascherini's shutout, as he gave up just four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Elk Grove let Landon Johnson and Hudson Hall run wild. Johnson got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Hall went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was Hall's first of the season. Gavin Martin was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
Elk Grove hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in nine consecutive games.
Jesuit's win bumped their record up to 19-11. As for Elk Grove, their victory bumped their record up to 24-6.
Jesuit was able to grind out a solid win over Elk Grove in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, winning 8-3. Do the Marauders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Thundering Herd turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
