The Bravo Knights will head out to face off against the Torres Toros at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Bravo let Rancho Dominguez stack four runs on them in the fourth inning on Friday but luckily Bravo prevailed anyway. The Knights came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lobos, sneaking past 6-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.
Johann Centeno was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Centeno was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cristian Torres, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Johnathon Montalvo was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Torres got the win against Hawkins on Friday by a conclusive 21-2.
Like Bravo, Torres also got a great game from a two-way player: Juan Barajas. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Barajas was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
In other batting news, Jouse Solis Rojas was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Rey Barreras, who got on base in four of his six plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.
Torres kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 25 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 13 hits every time they've taken the field this season.
Bravo's record is now 2-0. As for Torres, their record now sits at 3-0.
Bravo couldn't quite get it done against Torres when the teams last played back in February of 2025 as they fell 4-0. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
